Aaron Hadlow took a trip to Tarifa to kite, test new products and generally be absorbed in the kite meca.
During the trip he met up with Tom Court…
Recent addition to the Flexifoil team, Jerrie van de Kop was last weekend crowned European Junior Champion in Saint Pierre la Mer in France.
Seventeen year old Jerrie, from the Netherlands is showing great skill flying up to top of the European game and from what we can see he’s going to be doing great things in the future! Congrats Jerrie!!
You can see more of Jerrie in his training video, edited by Mario Hofstede…

Flexifoil thrilled to congratulate Team Rider Bruna Kajiya on her win at the PKRA in Dakhla, Morocco.

We hear her thoughts on the event…
As I arrived to Dahkla in the middle of the night I wondered where the 4X4 was taking us since all I saw was darkness and the bit of desert the head lights would reach. I was unsettled until I got out of the car and was stroked by the beauty of the sky, there were so many stars its hard to describe, then all my worries about being away from civilization suddenly disappeared and from that night for the rest of the 10 days trip all I saw were the advantages of going back to a simple life style.
As I connected to the internet as soon as I arrived back to Spain I thought: ” Internet! Finally! ” but that was not really how I felt, it was more of an instinct than an actual relief, truth is that it’s been amazing this 10 days in the middle of the Sahara desert with no connection to the rest of the world.
The only negative thing about this lack of connection was that I couldn’t update the blog and post that I won the event :) I wanted to upload the pics and spread the good news but I had to wait until the plane touched down in Spain.
The competition was amazing, the conditions were perfect for freestyle, flat water and 9m weather, we were actually pretty lucky with the wind since the days before and the day after the comp it was howling for an overpowered 5.5m session.
I’m pretty happy with my riding, it all came together and I had some pretty good heats. All the other girls were also riding really well so the competition was very tight. I think this stop really showed how the level of the girls went up, yesssssss!! We are getting somewhere with all this!
My gear worked very well and I had no unluckiness on the comp, the only bump was that my leash snapped on the final against Gisela and I lost the kite remaining one minute to go, a minute never went slower, Gisela pulled two tricks on that time but I had done lots of tricks up to that point and that was enough to take the win.
Now I’m taking all this new motivation from this win in Morocco to put into some training and get ready for Leucate!
For the last few days I have been on tour around the East side of the UK.
We started off at S2AS in Hove and soon headed over to Lancing, on the way had the chance to session at the new 2.0 at Hove Lagoon, the wind was NE, off shore, so it was good to get a bit of riding in before heading down the beach.
Next we checked out the other S2AS store in Hythe before heading down to Greatstone for a great session, the wind was coming on shore and the water was flat between the waves, when I was younger and lived over that way I used to ride there a lot, so it was fun to ride there again.
Following day we were in Ipswich at Edge Riders, the guys put on a nice BBQ at the store with a few locals before we headed down to Felixstowe which was a surprising good spot, I got to ride my 9m Hadlow with wind from the right and small little kickers.
Our final day was up in Hunstanton with Hunstanton Watersports, again we got some good wind, this time wind from the left. We went over to Brancaster where the water was coming in and filling up some lagoons, I was lit on a 7m but the water was flat so it made for a pretty fun session.
Now I am at home organizing my next trip, I am heading over to Tarifa to meet a couple of mates, ride and test some kites. Hopefully there will be some good wind.

Spring in the UK and time for the whole of the Flexifoil Team to meet up, get their heads together and have a ridiculously fun time. Flexifoil team members, staff and other important dignitaries descended on the beaches of Quiberon, France, from all over the world.
Even though the wind was in short supply, the fun didn’t stop for the legendary trip. The true spirit of Flexifoil was incapsulated in these few days of festivities with the incredible variety and skills of our wonderful Team. Many moments of the trip could encapsulate the essence of this incredible group of people, but probably for me I would say one of these moments was the invention of ‘JD Pong’ as it was played on a picnic table by the camp fire by 5x Freestyle Kitesurf World Champion Aaron Hadlow, Flexifoil Managing Director Anthony Van Dort, freestyle buggy innovator Will Mckean and US kitesurf legend Billy Parker. What a wonderful mix.
Our first few days were windless but the team kept busy on the beach playing with the new Protons, stacking every size of Hadlow kites and flying the ever fun land kites. Evenings were spent either longboarding through Carnac, taking over pizza restaurants, or BBQing by our chalets with a camp fire.
The last day brought enough wind for the land team to have a fantastic play on Quiberon’s beautiful beaches before everyone headed off back to their corner of the globe.
A huge thank you goes to the Flexifoil staff for putting the trip together and to everyone there for making it so special. Next trip we’ll make sure we order a bit more wind!

Sometimes brands can be accused of overexaggerating. Of making claims that can’t be backed up. For some time now we’ve said that the Flexifoil Blade is a legend of a kite, and not for the faint hearted.
On the team trip this April, Flexifoil kitesurf legend Billy Parker thought he’d test that claim. The following video reveals what happened…
