Here in New Caledonia the action continues. The first half of the Double Eliminations for the men ran on Saturday followed by the best trick/big air show for the crowds that had gathered at Point Magnin. Forest Bakker kited like a trouper through his heats before he met local rider Mika Dinclaux who had nearly eliminated the tour leader Andy Yates in the Singles before he was disqualified. A big congrats to Forest to putting up a wonderful fight!!

The highlight of the Singles action came out on Extreme Elements TV with Bruna’s spectacular ’313 to drunk’ crash! Check it out…!

Action continues here at the PKRA with the finals of the Freestyle Double Eliminations…

The next tour stop on the PKRA brought the Flexifoil Team of Bruna Kajiya, Forest Bakker and Johara Sykes-Davies back to the paradise of New Caledonia. The wind kicked in for the first day of the event and has blown relentlessly.

The Flexifoil crew has been having a blast on the 5.5 Ion in the strong winds. Forest has been busting out the mega kiteloops over the idyllic kitespot after finally being knocked out by Mario Rodwald and Bruna and Johara fought their way to 3rd and 4th places respectfully in the Freestyle Single Eliminations.

Hightlight of the Singles had to be Bruna’s close encounter with the local drunk who had managed to wander into the competition area and she landed a 313 on top of him in her heat against Johara! She is a little bruised but fighting on, and the drunk was just worried about where his hat had gone! To finish the day off nicely, Johara and judge Carlos got attacked by a flying board while filming Forest! What a day!

The PKRA here in New Cal continues tomorrow with the Double Eliminations, so check back for more action from the Flexifoil crew…

Flexifoil hears from Team Rider Bruna Kajiya on her fourth crowing as Brazilian Champion…

Yesterday we finished the last stop of the Brazilian tour in Rio de Janeiro. As unfortunate as it sounds the wind didn’t show up for the freestyle in any of the 6 days of the event, so out of the 3 stops we only had wind in one.

The competition was meant to finish on Sunday but since we didn’t have results for freestyle nor wave the organization decided to extend the event until Monday on the hope that the wind would show up. Monday was another day of long wait and no wind, at least there were little waves for a fun surf session.

With the 1st place from the stop in Cumbuco I became 2010 Brazilian Champion adding up to 4 Brazilian Championship titles, it’s amazing to see these results and think back to when I started, when winning one Brazilian Championship seemed impossible.

Now I’m home for a day before heading up to New Cal and Australia, this day better have more then 24hrs, because I have tons of clothes to be washed, dried and packed! Lets not forget the boardbag!

The Freestyle Double Eliminations was a brilliant day for the Flexifoil riders in Bariloche. The wind was pumping and a line of 5.5 Ions and 5.5 Hadlow Pros were pumped up.

Forest Bakker continued to work his way up the ladder in his super powered style to seventh place where he was stopped by Euro champ Alberto Rondina. Good work Forest!

Johara had not done so well in the Single Eliminations so now had her work cut out in the Doubles. But she won 3 consecutive heats to get up to a heat against team mate Bruna Kajiya for third and fourth place. It was great a great heat with two 5.5 Ions holding super well in the strong wind.

Johara finished in fourth place and Bruna carried on up the ladder to beat Karolina Winkowska to finish in second place for the event.

A massive well done to all the riders and thank you to the PKRA and the local organisers for a great event.

A special thank you must go to the new official PKRA Photographer Toby Bromwich. He came out with some incredible images at this first event and we really look forward to what he is going to do for the tour. Congrats Toby!

Check out the action from the Freestyle Doubles from Exteme Elements TV..

The slight delay was due to the bouys not staying in place it was so windy and the race director making sure the area was safe for everyone.

Such an exciting day when we got underway. Our budding star Forest Bakker beat Tom Herbert to finish in fifth place for the Singles which is a fantastic result for someone so young in the incredibly hard conditions. Bruna hung onto her 5.5 Ion in the strong gusts and fought the cold water to a fantastic third place.

Watch out for more action in the Double Eliminations from Team Flexifoil…

In the mean time enjoy some pre-freestyle action from Extreme Elements…
